About Bucks County:

Bucks County is one of the Philadelphia region’s most visited suburban areas. It’s one of the three original Pennsylvania counties and is home to history, arts, beautiful natural parks, and farmland. If some fresh air and beautiful scenery is what you’re seeking look no further. Here are some highlights of Bucks County!

Arts & Culture:

Mercer Museum & Fonthill Castle: Archaeologist, anthropologist, ceramist, scholar, and antiquarian Henry Chapman Mercer designed these reinforced concrete castles which were built in the early 1900s. Mercer Museum houses over 50,000 pre-industrial tools and takes you through different crafts and trades. Fonthill Castle was Mercer’s home and features his collection of tiles and prints. James A Michener Art Museum: Features primarily American art and focuses on the Delaware River Valley region’s artistic and cultural history, especially within Bucks County. Bucks County Playhouse: On the scenic banks of the Delaware River in New Hope lies the Bucks County Playhouse, producing shows to meet every interest. Click HERE for more info.

Bucks County Civil War Museum: Features rare artifacts and provides a look into Bucks County’s contribution to the Civil War. Click HERE for more info.

Washington Crossing Historic Park: Preserves the site where George Washington crossed the Delaware River and turned the tide of the Revolutionary War. Each December there is a reenactment. Click HERE for more info.

Nature:

Peace Valley Park & Nature Center: With 15 miles of trails, you’ll feel truly immersed in nature. Perfect for picnicking, running, biking, and exploring. Lake Galena also offers boat rentals and beautiful sunsets. Click HERE for more info about the Nature Center’s programs.

Tyler State Park: 1,711 acres including trails, a boat rental, horseback riding, playgrounds, a covered bridge, and more. You can fish in the Neshaminy Creek that runs through the park. Click HERE for more info.

Nockamixon State Park: 5,286 acre park with nearby cabins. Perfect for picnicking, swimming in the park pool, hiking, biking, disc golf, fishing, boating, and paddleboarding. Click HERE for more info.

High Rocks/Ralph Stover: Tohickon Creek flows through the 45 acre Ralph Stover State park and can be viewed from the beautiful overlooks at High Rocks. Click HERE for more info.

Ringing Rocks: Bring your hammer and hit the rocks in the boulder field to experience their strange bell-like ring! Hike through the trails and you’ll also discover a waterfall. Click HERE for more info.

Shopping:

Valley Square: Shops, restaurants, and special events in Warrington. Click HERE for the directory.

Peddler’s Village: More than just an iconic shopping destination, Peddler’s Village has seasonal festivals, special events, great dining, and is a wedding destination as well. Make sure to check out their famous Christmas lights in the winter. Click HERE for all of their upcoming events.

Activities:

Tinicum Park Polo Club: Experience the excitement of a live polo game at scenic Tinicum park in the summer months. Click HERE for more info.

For the Adults:

Sand Castle Winery: Beautiful winery with views of Bucks County, right across from the Delaware River. Take a tour of the facility to learn about the winery’s history. And yes, it does look like a sand castle. Click HERE for more info.
